The West Mill, Derbyshire: Lauren & Pete
After escaping to South Africa to elope (ummm, dream wedding much??) Lauren & Pete returned, newly married, to celebrate locally with their nearest and dearest at The West Mill wedding venue in Derbyshire, a grade I listed former cotton spinning mill. All of the fun and none of the fuss you might argue!
Styled beautifully by Tara Knott, adding fun and flair to the industrial venue, I love shooting here for a multitude of aesthetic reasons, but also because it’s 10 minutes drive from my house 😆 don’t get me wrong, I love to travel! But it’s also very refreshing not to have to worry about traffic, breakdowns or any other potential vehicle problems that would stop me from getting here (because I know a taxi will cost me £10 or less at the very worst).
This evening was pure dancefloor 🕺💃 with a few added wedding traditions thrown in; speeches from the best man, maid of honour, father of the bride and the groom, followed by their first dance together. For the rest of the evening, Lauren & Pete wanted pure documentary, candid moments capturing of them and their guests. My cup of tea to say the least! Nothing formal, nothing posed, nothing staged, just everyone they loved having the best time ever. So when everyone is having the best time ever, this is what you get!!! 👇
